Speed Up the House Buying Process

1. Get pre-approved for the loan (do all of Phase 2 before even starting to house-hunt)

B. Fix all problems with your credit report

C. Shop for a Loan with different mortgage companes

D. Tell your employer you are trying to buy a house and ask for a quick turnaround on the mortgage company’s proof of employment request

E. If persuing a VA loan, order the VA Certificate of Eligibility as soon as possible

2. Ask your Real Estate agent which appraisers are fast and come in on the high side. Ask the mortgage company to use those one of those appraisers.

3. Shoot for a closing date in the middle of the month. That is the lawyer’s least busy time.
